Yoni Steam Herbal Bath - Description/Timing/With ART Cycles
Yoni is the Sanskrit word for the sacred female genitalia. Herbal vaginal steams, or bajos in Spanish ... chai-yok in Korean have been used for centuries to treat many conditions including infertility, fibroids, cysts, painful or irregular periods, endometriosis, cervical stenosis, vaginal dryness and hemorrhoids. The vaginal steam can be used in conjunction with the Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdonimal (ATMAT) to achieve optimal reproductive health.
How Yoni Steam Herbal Baths Work?
The abundance of blood vessels and mucus membranes in the female genitalia allow healing herbs to absorb with tremendous benefits through the walls of the vagina. In our highly medicalized society, the ancient wisdom of woman healing themselves has been de-emphasized (even ridiculed). Today Jennifer is part of a new wave of women healers reclaiming the earth power of Yoni Steam Herbal Baths. The vaginal steams also work as a uterine lavage to cleanse the uterine wall of accumulated debris and nourish the womb on physical and energetic levels.

When to do Yoni Steams?
3-Month Fertility Protocol - Before your period (this is if you are using protection and positive that you are NOT pregnant)
1- Month Fertlity Protocol - First day of your period or at tail-end of your period
Hormonal Migraines - Up to 3 times the week before your period
Dysmenorrhea or Painful Periods - up to 3 times the week prior to your period. Or first day of your period if you are spotting
Fibroids - (same as with painful periods) Fibroids are related to coldness in the womb. Yoni steams infuse warmth into the pelvis.
Menopause - 4 times per year at seasonal changes (or as needed). Sometimes women who haven't bled in years will report having what seems like another period. But it's actually a cleansing of old debris from the uterus.
Hemorrhoids - as needed with astringent herbs
Full Term Labor - oregano steams (oregano stimulates the uterus). Consult your midwife.
Postpartum - with normal pregnancy (not heavy bleeding or perineal tears), 3 times within the first week of birth. Jen uses a special postpartum herbal blend in the steam (Drink oregano tea). Consult your midwife before doing a steam right after delivery and avoid drafts.
For IUI and IVF (From the CNY Fertility Center)
1. If you are in a natural cycle - Steam 1 time within 1 - 4 days after your period. Then 1 time just before ovulation but before intercourse (we don't want to heat up the sperm).
2. If you are taking Clomid - Steam 1 time when you first start Clomid medication. Then 1 time just before ovulation but before intercourse/IUI. A side-effect of Clomid may be decreased cervical mucous. Yoni Steams help increase healthy mucous.
3. If you are doing an injectable IUI cycle, - 1 time when beginning your stimulation drugs. Then 1 time in the morning before your IUI procedure. Steaming before IUI procedure helps liquefy the cervical mucuous and creates a lubricated path for the insertion of the catheter through the cervix.
4. If you are doing an IVF cycle, (same protocol & benefit as 3. injectable IUI cycle)
